Revolut Rolls Out EURR Stablecoin With Bridge as Issuer

Revolut has started rolling out EURR, its first euro-pegged stablecoin, to selected customers in Denmark, Poland and Portugal, according to The Defiant. The launch brings a branded onchain euro token into Revolut’s app, with Bridge Building S.A. acting as the regulated issuer and redemption counterparty for the asset.

The Defiant reported that Bridge disclosed roughly 374 euros of EURR outstanding at this early stage of the rollout. That figure is minimal compared with the 394.5 million euros in circulation for Circle’s EURC, a rival euro stablecoin that has been available for longer and has built up broader distribution across exchanges and DeFi platforms.

The limited initial figure suggests Revolut’s stablecoin effort remains in an early testing phase, with distribution currently restricted to customers in the three named European countries rather than a full continent-wide release. Revolut, a UK-based fintech and banking app with a large European user base, has been expanding its crypto and digital asset offerings alongside its core banking products.

By working with Bridge Building S.A. as issuer, Revolut is positioning EURR within a regulated framework for issuance and redemption, a structure that mirrors approaches taken by other fintech and financial firms entering the stablecoin market amid tightening European rules for such tokens under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework.

The Defiant noted that further details on Bridge Building’s role and the pace of EURR’s broader rollout were not fully specified in the initial disclosure, leaving open questions about how quickly Revolut intends to expand availability beyond the three pilot markets.
